About

The Milwaukee Falcon is a project of the Milwaukee Science Fiction and Fantasy League, an SFF club dedicated to celebrating our favorite genre-related works as well as building up local content creators. Visit milwaukeescifi.com for more details about the MSFFL.

MF is a fan-run convention. Fan-run conventions are run for fans, by fans, as not-for-profit enterprises. Our primary goals are to revel in and continually foster our love for science fiction and fantasy, and to build up local content creators (authors, artists, screenwriters, filmmakers, comic book creators, etc.).

Milwaukee has hosted fan-run SFF conventions in the past, but has lacked one for nearly 20 years. The last such event was Ditto 18, last held in 2005. (Operacon was held in 2015 as a one-off.)

The Milwaukee School of Engineering maintains a student-run SFF convention called Concinnity, held in April every year. Highly recommended.

Here are some of Milwaukee’s past conventions:

  • Ditto 18 – 2005
  • CremeCon – 1995
  • First Contact – 1994-1999
  • Triangulum – 1985-1987
  • X-Con – 1977-1992
  • Phyllcon – 1959 (named for Phyllis Economou who was hostess for the event at her own home)
  • Beercon – 1948
